Bo and the Dark

It was night time. Bo the little fox was cozy in bed.

But Bo wanted a drink of water. The kitchen was across the dark room.

The room was dark and quiet. Bo felt a little unsure.

Bo picked up a little lantern. Click! A soft, warm light.

Now Bo could see. The dark room was just the same room, all cozy and quiet.

Step by step, Bo walked across. “I can do this!”

Halfway across, Bo heard a sound. Tap... tap... tap.

Bo stopped still. What could it be?

Bo looked. It was only the tree, tap-tapping on the window in the wind.

“Oh! It's just the tree,” Bo laughed. “Nothing scary at all.”

Bo felt braver than ever.

Bo got the drink of water. Glug, glug. All done!

Then Bo tiptoed back to bed, all snug and warm.

“I was brave in the dark,” Bo smiled. And soon Bo was fast asleep.

Being brave means trying, even when it feels a little dark. 🦊
